Hello,

in task 4b of homework 4, we are supposed to give the number of message types for the handshake protocol. How do you define a message type?

In particular, there is the certificate message which can be sent by server and client. It is only explained once  in the document but it can occur twice in the handshake and it has a slightly different meanig. However, the structure of the message stays the same. Would you count this as one or two types?

Thank you.

Hello,

the RFC defines what exactly message type means in the context of the handshake protocol. As the task is to read the RFC and search for the necessary information, we cannot answer this question yet.
